About Me

The unconventional union of elegant conservatism and edgy radicalism
has produced the classically unique jewelry of j danyel. Asked how she would
describe her designs, Jo intriguingly replies, “Victorian era meets Punk Rock”. This unlikely marriage between two
diametrically opposed worldviews begs the question: How has j danyel come to
be?

j danyel has its genesis in the inspiration of its founder’s
youth. As a child, Jo’s mother would assign her the task of reworking her
mother’s old jewelry to compliment and accessorize her new outfit. The skill
and creativity Jo developed from these assignments not only allowed her to
alter her own jewelry, but also gave her insight into the unique and limited
qualities that defines j danyel’s pieces today.

Jo has been making jewelry for herself for a number of
years. Jo is not averse to buying jewelry, but when doing so she has an eye for
how to transform that piece into something distinctively her own interpretation
of what’s current, yet distinguished.

j danyel was born in early 2011 in Vancouver, Canada after much encouragement and
applause from her admirers. Using crystals, feathers, glass, stones,
up-cycle chains and charms, to name a few, Jo creates limited and one of a kind
jewelry that has seen great success in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Toronto, as well
as in the film industry and ETSY.com.

Jo would like to thank her supporters, her mother and her friends, especially to Denny,  Sanchia, Daniel and Bob for their insight and inspiration; without them j danyel would not be.
